LachmanDr. Mesut Guenes is an Associate Professor and Head of the Distributed, Embedded Systems group, Institute of Computer Science, Free University of Berlin, Germany. He received his Diploma (M.Sc.) in Computer Science and his Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Computer Science, in 1998 and 2004, respectively, both from the RWTH Aachen University, Germany. From 2004-2005 he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI), Berkeley, CA. His research interests include mobile and wireless networking including ad hoc networks, wireless sensor networks, wireless mesh networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Future Internet, and self-organization in these networks. LachmanDr. Farzad Safaei graduated from the University of Western Australia with the degree of Bachelor of Engineering and obtained his PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He has more than 15 years of experience in conducting and managing advanced research in the field of data communications and networks. Currently, he is the Professor of Telecommunications Engineering and Director of Centre for Emerging Networks and Applications at the University of Wollongong. Professor Safaei is also the Program Manager of Smart Networks and Intelligent Environment program at the Smart Internet Technology Cooperative Research Centre. Before joining the University of Wollongong, he was the Manager of Internetworking Architecture and Services Section in Telstra Research Laboratories. His primary research interest is to design large-scale telecommunication networks that can adapt autonomously to dynamic characteristics of applications, cost, customer demand, or any other critical influence from outside.


LachmanDr. Hamid Sarbazi-Azad received his B.Sc. in electrical and computer engineering from Shahid-Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran, in 1992, his M.Sc. in computer engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 1994, and his PhD in computing science from the University of Glasgow, Glasgow, UK, in 2002. He is currently professor of computer engineering at Sharif University of Technology, and heads the School of Computer Science, Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM), Tehran, Iran. His research interests include high-performance computer/memory architectures, NoCs and SoCs, parallel and distributed systems, performance modeling/evaluation, and storage systems, on which he has published about 300 refereed conference and journal papers. He received Khwarizmi International Award in 2006, TWAS Young Scientist Award in engineering sciences in 2007, and Sharif University Distinguished Researcher awards in years 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2010. He has served as the editor-in-chief for the Journal on Computer Science and Engineering published by Computer Society of Iran, an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Computers and ACM Computing Surveys, and a editorial board member for Elsevier's Computers & Electrical Engineering journal, International Journal of Computers & their Applications, and International Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing and Networks.


LachmanDr. Ahmed Mostefaoui received his M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Claude Bernard University (Lyon, France) in 1996 and his PhD from Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon in 2000. Since Sep. 2000, he is an associate professor at the University of Franche-Comte. In oct. 2009 he obtained the HDR degree (French post-doctoral degree allowing its holder to supervise PhD students) from the same University. His research interests fall into the broad areas of Multimedia Systems, Distributed Algorithms and Wireless Communications. He has served as a Program Committee Member in more than 40 international conferences, including several editions of IEEE LCN, IEEE ICC, IEEE Globecom, etc. He has also participated in several international and national research projects.


LachmanDr. Lachman Tarachand is currently attached with Dewey Educational Group in Canada as the Vice President overseeing strategic business development. Prior to this, He was the Deputy Vice Chancellor of UCSI University in Malaysia where he worked for Nearly 20 years in different academic and management positions. Dr Lachman received His B.Eng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from Mehran University and subsequently Masters and PhD from the University of Malaya. His areas of interest are Electrical Machines, Power System and Artificial Intelligence."


LachmanDr. B. S. Chowdhry is a Dean Faculty of Electrical Electronics and Computer Engineering at MUET Jamshoro. He is an engineer, researcher and administrator with varied experience in diversified fields such as Electronics, Computer Systems, Telecommunication, Microprocessor Technology, Intelligent Instrumentation, Telemedicine, e-Commerce, computer application and Wireless Sensors Networks etc. After completing his first degree in Electronic engineering discipline, he did my PhD in the field of Microprocessor Based Intelligent Instrumentation from the school of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) University of Southampton, UK. Upon his return to Pakistan, he rejoined Electronics department as a faculty and has serving since past 30 years in various capacities from Lecturer to meritorious Professor (BPS-22). In addition, he was appointed as a in April 2011 for period of 3 years. He is also serving as a Project director of Rs 100 million endowment fund established for the development of ICT. He supervised/co-supervised 6 PhD's and more than 50 MPhil/Master"s Thesis in the areas of electronics, computers and Telecommunications. His list of research publication crosses to over 60 in national and international journals, IEEE and ACM proceedings. He also has a credit of becoming one of the editor of books "Wirseless Networks, Information Processing and Systems", CCIS 20, and "Emerging Trends and Applications in Information Communication Technologies", CCIS 281 published by Springer Verlag, Germany in addition to more than dozen books published nationally. He is also recipient of Higher Education Commission (HEC) University Best Teacher Award 2001 (Awarded by Federal Minister of Education) and National Cultural Award-2002 in recognition of achievements in the field of Engineering Profession (Awarded by Federal Minister of Culture, Tourism, Minorities affairs, 23 Sep 2002) and Presidential Highest Academic Distinction Award (Izaz-e-Fazeelat) in 2009. He has also been appointed as member Board of Trustees, Pakistan Science Foundation by President of Islamic republic of Pakistan. LachmanDr. Arshad Ali, Principal, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS) is a prolific researcher and academicians. He has over 100 publications to his credit in national and international conferences & refereed journals. He has been awarded gold medal by Pakistan Academy of Sciences and COMSTECH for IT research, Presidents' Gold medal for best NUST researcher of the year 2005 and "Distinguished Scientists of the Year 2006" award by Pakistan Academy of Sciences. So far, over 100 Pakistani scientists have been given these awards. Dr. Arshad is also recipient of President's pride of performance in IT research. Dr Arshad initiated research collaboration with Center for European Nuclear Research (CERN), Switzerland and earned the Associate Institute status of CMS-CERN for National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST). He is actively working on various research projects with Stanford USA, Caltech USA, UWE UK, and University of South Brittany France. Dr. Arshad has served as member of the International Advisory Board of the "International ICFA Workshop on HEP Networking, Grids, and Digital Divide Issues for Global e-Science". AtharDr. Athar Mahboob is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Dean Faculty of Engineering & Applied Sciences at the DHA Suffa University, Karachi.ained a PhD in Electrical Engineering from National University of Sciences & Technology, Pakistan in 2005 and obtained BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering both from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, USA (1988-1996). Dr. Athar Mahboob has over 20 years of teaching, research and industrial experience in various prestigious universities and organizations in Pakistan and abroad. Dr. Athar Mahboob's research interests are in the area of efficient implementation of cryptographic algorithms in hardware and software environments. His PhD research was focused on efficient implementation of Elliptic Curve Cryptography. Dr. Athar Mahboob is also a renowned specialist in implementing Enterprise Information Services using Linux, Information Security and Cryptology, Computer Networks and Internetworking using TCP/IP Protocols, Digital Systems Design and Computer Architectures. In addition to teaching and research, over the last 20 years Dr. Athar Mahboob has performed IT Consultancy assignments for many reputable organizations in the public and private sectors. His consultancy assignments have included PTCL, Pakistan Security Printing Corporation, Peoples' Steel Mills, Institute of Bankers, Pakistan, EFU General Insurance, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and many others. Being fully involved with both industrial and academic environments allows Dr. Athar Mahboob to educate, train and mentor student engineers in real-world engineering problem solving. Over the last 18 years Dr. Athar Mahboob has also been a proven academic leader and industrial project manager. His in-depth understanding and simultaneous deep involvement with Pakistani academia and industry is nearly impossible to find in any other person. Based on his tremendous contributions to Science, Engineering & Technology education Dr. Athar Mahboob was decorated with the civil award of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan on 14 August 2012.


LachmanDr. Attaullah Khawaja is working as Professor, Department of Electronic Engineering, NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi. His academic Career spans 16 years and he has held positions as Co-Chairman and Coordinator of Masters of Engineering programmes, Department of Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering at NED. Before Joining NEDUET he worked with IBRD and OECF Japan Consultants on different Projects. He received his Graduate education in Electrical Engineering from MUET in 1993, Master of Engineering in communications from NEDUET in 2002 and PhD in Communication and information Systems from Beijing Institute of Technology, P.R.China in 2007. He is a member of PEC, IEEE, IAE, IACSIT and he has published more than 25 research papers in International conferences and Journals in the field of Communications, Robotics and Image Processing. LachmanCapt Dr. Muhammad Junaid Khan is a Dean of Electrical and Power Engineering at PNEC, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) PNEC, Karachi. His specialization & research interests are in the fields of systems, controls, automation, piecewise linear approximation, renewable energy and power conservation.


ShamsiDr. Jawwad A Shamsi received his PhD (CS) from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI 2009. At present, he is an Associate Professor and Head of the CS department at FAST-NU, Karachi. His research interest include distributed systems, mobile & cloud systems, cyber and network security, and high performance computing systems. He has published over 30 papers in leading conferences and journals including IEEE Globecom, Elsevier JPDC and JNCA, and Springer JGC. Jawwad has served as a PC member for various conferences including IWCDM, MobiWis, ICICT , IMTIC, and ICIW. He also serves on the Editorial board of International Journal of Advances of Internet Technology. His work has been supported through collaboration with Intel, Amazon, BlackBerry, and ICTRDF.


LachmanDr. Samreen Amir was born in Karachi, Pakistan on 3rd July 1979. She received her B.S. (Electronic Engineering) from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, (Pakistan) in 2001, M.S. in 2007. She earned doctoral degree Ph.D. from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology. She worked on the novel idea of turning an unborn baby in mother's womb to the normal position. For this research she got support from Mayo Clinic Graduate School, USA. She is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering, Sir Syed University Of Engineering and Technology. She has authored and co-authored more than 17 research papers published in various journals and international conferences. She has also worked for SUPARCO and National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences. Her total professional experience is about 13 years. Her research interest includesWireless Communication, Bio-Engineering, Signal Processing and VLSI. She has also received the award of Star Laureate of the Year 2009 by South Asia Publications. Samreen Amir is a life member of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and International Association of Engineers (IAENG)."


LachmanEngr. Rafiq Ahmed Lakhani has got B.E (Electronics) From Dawood College of Engineering & Technology, Karachi (1981/1982) and worked in SUPARCO from 1982-1983 at ILS Lab as Associate Engineer. He also received post graduate certificate course from Suparco in Instrumentation & Space electronics (1982-1983) and various other certificates and on job training courses from various countries like Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, USA, Italy, Germany and China etc. in test & measuring equipment, teaching & training equipment and computer and specialized electronics. He has attended various conferences, seminars & exhibitions in USA, Germany, Italy, Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, China, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. He has been part of design of various teaching & training equipment for teaching study of electronics / embedded systems, micro controller etc. and holds wide experience of working with world major electronics companies for the marketing of their products / services / solutions like, M/s. LachmanDr. Zunera Jalil She is currently serving as Assistant Professor and Head, Computing & Technology Department at IQRA University Islamabad Campus. She did Ph.D in Computer Science from FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad in September 2010. Title of my PhD thesis was "Copyright Protection of Plain Text using Digital Watermarking Approach". Before this, She did MS (Computer Science) from the same university in 2007 and MCS from International Islamic University in 2002. She has been serving as Faculty Member at Air University since 2008 at different positions. Before joining Iqra University, She has been serving as faculty member at International Islamic University Islamabad, Air University, Allama Iqbal Open University and other institutions of learning. Her research interests include information security, digital watermarking and its application to solve real world problems, intelligent systems and algorithms and software project management.


LachmanDr. Bilal Ahmad Alvi is serving Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology since May 2007 as Chairman, Department of Electronic Engineering. He has more than 27 years of experience in the field of Electronic Engineering. He did his M.S. and PhD from the University of Salford , U.K. in the field of Optical Fiber Communication. He has worked on many important projects in Pakistan , Saudi Arabia and the U.S.A. He had also served at the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) as Senior Engineer for more than 15 years. His research interests include optical fiber communication systems, Optical wireless communication, and small satellite development. Dr. Alvi has published a number of research papers and chaired many local and International Conferences. He has been selected as the best University Teacher award by the Higher Education Commission Pakistan.
